Produced by Jim Henson Productions and Marvel Productions, it’s owned by Disney but also features clips from a variety of films that could make it difficult to see it release via streaming. This animated Saturday morning cartoon imagined childhood versions of the Muppet gang, in stories overseen by Henson and his team. Running for 22 episodes, this series attempted to reboot The Muppet Show in a similar format (skits and musical numbers featuring guest stars), though it plays out in a television studio rather than an old-time theatre. DISNEY SING ALONG VHS TVMuppets TV Series Muppets Tonight (ABC, 1996-1998) The lack of Muppets content - productions featuring characters owned by Disney, and many even produced by Disney - becomes obvious when listing all the Muppets series and specials currently missing on Disney+. In 2004, the core Muppet characters were purchased by The Walt Disney Company along with most back-catalog programs. Following Jim’s untimely death at age 53 in 1990, his son Brian Henson took the reins of The Jim Henson Company and oversaw further decades of creative development which continues to this day. Henson and friends spent decades hand-crafting their hilarious, colorful family of Muppet personalities. Yet even with those releases, much of the Muppets’ best work remains locked away in the Disney vault. On October 19, 2022, all four seasons of Bear in the Big Blue House (reportedly all 117 episodes) are slated to release on Disney+ U.S. started the year enjoying hours upon hours of Jim Henson-inspired puppetry storytelling. Overall, quintessential for Halloween. With Dinosaurs and The Muppet Show released in 2021, Disney+ subscribers in the U.S. The songs also boast an opportunity like all the other Disney sing-along videos to get nostalgic over some of the Disney moments such as The Sorceror's Apprentice. And of course the songs are great and easy to sing along to, the best being Legend of Sleepy Hollow(once you get past the replacement of Bing Crosby's voice), Cast Your Spell, Grim Grinning Ghosts(though it was featured on another Disney sing-along-video and I found the vocals spookier on that one) and Five Little Pumpkins. the three children that the story centres around are appealing, and certainly show a talent for singing, dancing and acting, and all the Disney characters while perhaps sidelined are fun. The production values are never too cheap and the sound effects not too cheesy considering the target audience. Of course there are some great macabre touches such as the atmospheric haunted house setting, the inclusion of a condensed version of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Corey Burton's chillingly effective voice over for The Magic Mirror, but effort is also made to make it a lot of fun too, with pumpkin carving, dancing and Goofy's recipe for Chicken Lips and Lizard Hips. For those wondering whether it would be too scary or along the lines, I don't think it is. While I mayn't consider Happy Haunting one of the best, it is one of my personal favourites. I happen to be a big fan of the Disney Sing-along-songs, not only are they educational and entertaining but it is a great excuse to revisit the Disney classics we know and love.
